COVID-19 VACCINE APPOINTMENTS & INFO

Updated September 27, 2022

We are administering Pfizer COVID-19 bivalent boosters, by appointment only, on Thursday, October 6 from 10 am to 6 pm at Parrish Memorial Hall (Entrance by the ED at the corner Herrick and Lewis in Southampton)

COVID-19 vaccination provides protection against serious illness and outcomes associated with COVID-19, including emergency department or urgent care visits, hospitalizations, and death. The Pfizer bivalent COVID-19 booster doses are for people ages 12 years and older, including those who are moderately or severely immunocompromised. This updated COVID-19 vaccine adds an Omicron BA.4/5 spike protein component to the previous monovalent composition. The bivalent booster dose helps restore protection that has waned since previous vaccination by targeting more transmissible and immune-evading variants. The booster also broadens the spectrum of variants that the immune system is ready to respond to.

You are eligible for a single dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 bivalent booster, if you are:

  • At least two months from completing primary vaccination

OR

  • At least two months from receiving the most recent booster dose with any authorized or approved monovalent COVID-19 vaccine

And,

If you were infected with COVID, not less than 3 months ago

If you are eligible, register at: https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/SBSHCOVID19VaccineSouthamptonNY@stonybrookmedicine.edu/bookings/
