Southampton Hospital Expansion Plans

The Phillips Family Cancer Center

Cancer patients who reside on the South Fork of Long Island have had to travel considerable distances to receive therapy. The Phillips Family Cancer Center is now open. Construction began in 2017 on a 14,000 sq. foot, two-story building on County Road 39 in Southampton that will house the South Fork’s first radiation oncology unit. The facility will be equipped with a state-of-the-art linear accelerator, the type of technology most commonly used to administer radiation treatment, services not available at the Hospital.

East Hampton Emergency Care

Application for an East Hampton satellite emergency room and treatment center has been submitted to New York State.  Preliminary plans call for the construction of an approximately 54,000 square foot building that will include 10 emergency room beds, including 1 trauma and 4 observation beds (one designated for psychiatric observation); urgent care and radiology services including CT, MRI and X-ray.  Other space will be designated for associated services including laboratory, a blood draw station and offices for primary care and specialty physicians.  The site will also include physician and patient parking, ambulance access and a helipad.
