Southampton, NY—Stony Brook Southampton Hospital officials were presented with a $1.6 million gift on Tuesday, May 29, which will be earmarked for the new Phillips Family Cancer Center. Hospital Volunteer Ambassador Barbara Strong Borsack presented the donation on behalf of the Estate of the late Melissa E. Morgan, an East Hampton resident and longtime friend of the Strong and Borsack families who volunteered at the Hospital in the 1960s. She passed away in 2017.
The Phillips Family Cancer Center is slated to open at the end of this year on County Road 39 in Southampton. The state-of-the-art facility will be a fully integrated site of the Stony Brook Cancer Center and benefit from Stony Brook’s expertise and program development, offering East End residents an array of cancer services including treatment plan following diagnosis, radiation and chemo therapies, navigation, education, and supportive care.
