Southampton Hospital's Coalition for Women's Cancers Receives Funding for Breast Cancer Patient Support Services

Southampton, NY—The Coalition for Womens’ Cancers at Southampton Hospital (CWC) provides numerous programs in support of breast cancer patients and their families on the East End of Long Island. New funding is becoming more critical as the CWC continues to expand its reach and services, helping patients recover and maintain normalcy in their families.  A Pink Aid Long Island grant of $14,000 and a Komen Greater NYC Grant of $63,750 will support the CWC’s “Navigating to Survive and Thrive” and “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” programs for the uninsured and underinsured women in East End community who are diagnosed with breast cancer.  Services include transportation to and from treatment, financial assistance including prosthesis, wigs, lymphedema sleeves/therapy, grocery cards, child care, housing,  utility bills and cleaning services.  The CWC also received $2,000 through the Town of Southampton Human Services grant program for nutritional counseling for breast and gynecological cancer patients and survivors.
