Medication Collection Box at Southampton Village Police Department Sponsored by Southampton Hospital

Southampton, NY—Southampton Hospital sponsored the installation of a pharmaceutical collection receptacle in the lobby of the Southampton Village Police Department to provide a secure and appropriate disposal location for local residents’ unused and expired medications. Medications should never be flushed down the toilet because they can make their way into our local waters. If left in the medicine cabinet, medications can pose an accidental ingestion risk to children and pets. Medication that is unused or expired should always be disposed of properly. For information and hours of operation for the collection receptacle at the Southampton Village Police Department, call (631) 283-0056.

(l. to r.) Southampton Village Chief of Police Thomas Cummings, Southampton Village Mayor Mark Epley, Southampton Hospital President & CEO Bob Chaloner, and program coordinator Tom McAbee with the new pharmaceutical collection receptacle.
