Southampton, NY—In recognition of its service to those afflicted by HIV/AIDS, Southampton Hospital’s David E. Rogers, MD Center has received the Peter M. Fox Excellence in AAHIVM Credentialing Award from the American Academy of HIV Medicine. The award is presented annually to those HIV practices where all eligible practitioners currently hold an American Academy of HIV Medicine AAHIVS, AAHIVE or AAHIVP credential. The award was created in memory of Peter M. Fox whose leadership and dedication resulted in the quality and growth of this important HIV credentialing program at the American Academy of HIV Medicine.

The Center has announced the addition of two new services—Hepatitis C Treatment for HIV/HCV Co-infected Patients who are living with both HIV and Hepatitis C will be able to be treated for both diseases at one convenient location, and Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Care PrEP will enable people who do not have HIV but are at substantial risk to prevent HIV infection by taking a pill every day.
