Description

Do you know someone who can no longer eat meat due to a tick bite? Allergist Erin McGintee, MD of ENT and Allergy Associates, and a member of the Medical Advisory Panel of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Regional Tick-Borne Disease Resource Center, will lecture about the Alpha-gal meat allergy, which is caused by a bite from the Lone Star Tick. Dr. McGintee has treated over 380 East End residents for this allergy and she is considered the regional expert in the field, having been interviewed about “A-gal” by the Associated Press, New York City television stations, Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, and even the BBC.
