Description
The Ellen Hermanson Breast Center at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is proud to bring Stony Brook Cancer Center’s Mobile Mammography Van to the South Fork. Through the New York State Cancer Services program, women will have he opportunity to receive screening mammographies using state-of-the-art equipment and physical breast exams conducted by a nurse practitioner.
Who: Women over 40 who have not had a mammogram in at least one year; are not pregnant or breastfeeding; have never been diagnosed with breast cancer; do not have breast implants or breast issues; have had a visit with a physician in the past year who is willing to accept the results of this screening
What: Screening mammographies and physical breast exams for insured and uninsured women
Where: The office of New York State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. (2302 Main Street, Bridgehampton)
When: Saturday, October 13, from 9 am to 5 pm
Why: Early detection of breast cancer through mammography has proven to save lives
