Description

Stony Brook Southampton Hospital offers free training for anyone interested in joining the “No One Dies Alone (NODA) program. This volunteer program ensures that no patient is alone at his/her end-of-life . It includes sharing spiritual music, spiritual readings and quiet, comforting visitation by the volunteer.

Volunteers are also offered training and participation in the “ Spiritual Compassionate Companion” program. Similar to the NODA program, however this entails visitation with patients who are not in an end of life situation but spend many hours alone without friends or relatives for companionship.

Training for both programs is ongoing. Those interested in attending a training session or learning more about the programs, please call the Palliative Care Chaplain Dr. Rabbi Robyn Tsesarsky at (631) 726-8296.
