Hampton Bays Public Library
52 Ponquogue Avenue

Description

Many people do not realize that the vast majority of patients who utilize palliative care are not terminally ill.  They are debilitated by diseases such as arthritis, chronic heart failure, or nerve damage in the feet from diabetes, which affect the quality of their lives and their ability to function. Dr. Jinny Caldentey, board certified in Palliative Care, Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, will present an overview of the Palliative Care Services available at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.  She will demonstrate how palliative care is different for each patient, and talk about the ways palliative care teams addresses chronic and serious diseases on a personal basis for each patient.  For more information and to reserve your seat please call (631) 728-6241.
