The Quarter Backer program was founded in 1977 by John P. Grattan and is comprised of local small business members and individuals who contribute annually to support the Hospital. Quarter Backers have been instrumental in many Hospital projects and over the years have raised funds for such programs as the Breast Health Center, our physical therapy and rehabilitation services and renovations to the Operating and Recovery Rooms to name a few.
Since 2004, the funds raised by the Quarter Backer program have been restricted to the Kathleen D. Allen Maternity Center which opened its doors in November of 2007. This vital project would not have been possible without the efforts of former Quarter Backer co-chairmen Tim Maran and George Kazdin who stepped down at the end of 2014. The Kathleen D. Allen Maternity Center will continue to be the focus of our efforts in 2015 and beyond.
We also welcomed new Quarter Backer co-chairs Lisa Kombrink, Jay Decker and Paul Brennan (pictured above) in 2015 and installed a new Quarter Backer donor wall in the lobby of the Hospital.
