The Bridgehampton Half-Marathon, scheduled to take place Saturday, April 29, will once again benefit Southampton Hospital.
Since its creation in 2014, the Bridgehampton Half has been the go-to half-marathon to kick off the East End running season. The course brings runners through Bridgehampton and Sagaponack Village, offering scenic views of stunning estates, white sand beaches, potato fields and horse farms.
The event is organized by the team that created the Hamptons Marathon & Half, together with the creator of the Fall Foliage Half-Marathon and the acclaimed Memorial Day Marathon Races in the Berkshires. Southampton Hospital is a longtime beneficiary of the Hamptons Marathon & Half, having received nearly $300,000 from race proceeds over the years.
“Southampton Hospital is very grateful for the ongoing support of the Bridgehampton Half and the Hamptons Marathon & Half,” said Robert Chaloner, Hospital President & CEO. “Their generous donations have helped us continue to provide high-quality medical care and services for all of our East End communities.”
Southampton Hospital is also a proud sponsor of the Bridgehampton Half. Licensed Massage Therapists will be on hand at the race to provide massages for participants, and a team of medical students will staff the Medical Tent.
In a joint statement, Hamptons Marathon co-organizers Diane Weinberger and Amanda Moszkowski said, “The Hamptons Marathon is proud to support Southampton Hospital's wellness initiative to encourage people to embrace fitness and a healthy lifestyle. The community can help us further the Hospital’s mission by joining us as a volunteer or a runner.”
Online registration for the Bridgehampton Half ends April 15. There is no race day registration. To learn more, or to register, visit www.runthehamptons.com.
