Southrifty Drug and Southampton Hospital Offer Public Disposal Site for Medical "Sharps"

Southampton, NY—Southampton Hospital and Pharmacist Bob Grisnik of Southrifty Drug on Jagger Lane in Southampton Village are coordinating the free and safe disposal of needles and other medical “sharps” in a specially designed container that has been installed at the drugstore. Without a place to properly dispose of these items, they are often put in household garbage, and may wind up as litter in the environment, creating a dangerous situation for people and pets. East End residents are encouraged to take advantage of this free service, joining the Hospital and Southrifty Drug in protecting the environment.
