Please note: Not all of the support groups listed are sponsored by Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. This information is provided to assist the public and will be updated as necessary as we are notified. It is important to call the contact for the support group to confirm meeting dates/times and locations.

AL-ANON

    SBSH in collaboration with the Cancer Hope Network provides one-on-one emotional peer support to any East End adult cancer patient and their loved ones. The program’s mission is to help provide comfort throughout every phase of treatment by matching patients with a cancer survivor who has experienced a similar journey.

BARIATRIC SURGERY WEIGHT LOSS

  • Location: Hampton Bays Library, 52 Ponquogue Ave., Hampton Bays
  • Day/Time: 3rd Tuesday of every month, 6:30 – 8:30 pm

  • Notes: This is a support group for gastric bypass and lap-band patients. The meeting is run by bariatric surgeon Dr. Medhat Allam and supported by a nutritionist and counselor experienced in weight loss issues. Everyone is welcome, including those contemplating surgery.

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT

MOOD DISORDERS

  • Notes: The East End Mood Disorders Support Group, led by a trained peer professional, provides a confidential, recovery-oriented setting for individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorders.

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

  • Notes: East End Birth Network, Inc. (501(c)(3)) is a grassroots organization providing education and support for families birthing, parenting, and residing on the East End of Long Island. The organization advocates for fundamental human and equal rights by identifying inequities and disparities in birthing and parenting culture through continued community outreach and activism.

PARKINSON’S DISEASE

VIRTUAL CARE PARTNER SUPPORT GROUP
